Dan Horton

Assistant Coach

TEAM: 2010 Boys
I began coaching in 1998. My son needed a coach, so I began learning the game, took courses, got licenses, and all things required to be a coach. I have been coaching for 25 years now and have coached both boys and girls teams. I coached at Newberg High School with Scott and Jose in 2010 and 2011.

I served in the Marines from 1982 - 2002 and served in Desert Storm, I have an MBA and work for a safety company and manage about 30 sales representatives.

I have three children. My son is 36 and works for Nike as a CFO. My middle daughter, aged 30, runs a salon business. My youngest daughter is 24 and is a LT and Nurse in the Army and played soccer for Newberg High School.

I enjoy running. I have run the Hood to Coast 9 times as well as the Rock/Roll Half Marathon. I also ran a marathon on Diego Garcia in 1982.

Although I no longer have my own kid on the team, I enjoy working with kids and teams. I seek continuous improvement and encourage growth for all of my players not just on the pitch but also working to make them good citizens within the community.
